1. Who we are
The Children’s Language Centre (“CLC”, “we”) runs Yorùbá at Home, a tutor-led Yorùbá programme delivered in your own home in Abuja.
You contract with CLC, not with the tutor. CLC is who you come to if anything needs to change. You can reach us on WhatsApp or by email at info@childrenlanguagecentre.com.
Registered company name, address and legal details: [Legal adviser to confirm]
2. The programme
A trained tutor comes to your home. Each session runs 90 minutes, and the programme runs for 12 weeks. Your child learns through song, story, play and real conversation. You do not need to speak Yorùbá.
You choose one of three fixed tracks and one time slot:
- Monday track: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 3 sessions a week, starting 2:00pm or 4:30pm.
- Tuesday track: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 3 sessions a week, starting 2:00pm or 4:30pm. Your Saturday session runs at the same time as your weekday ones.
- Weekend track: Saturday and Sunday, 2 sessions a week, starting 9:00am, 11:30am, 2:00pm or 4:30pm. Two sessions a week, one fewer than the weekday tracks. The price is the same.
Enrolment is by family. A family can enrol up to 3 children, each aged 4 or older, for one price. For children aged 4 and over. One enrolment covers up to three children. If you have more, the others can join through a second enrolment at its own price, or join our waiting list.
Your enrolment includes:
- A 12-week programme, three sessions a week on a weekday track or two at weekends, delivered in your home
- A CLC-assigned, vetted and trained tutor
- A Home Learning Kit and your child’s own Yorùbá Journey Passport
- Weekly WhatsApp support so you can join in, even if you don’t speak Yorùbá yet
- A clear monthly progress update, and a milestone review at the halfway point
- Gratitude and reflection built into every session, alongside song, story and play
Your first session is a parent orientation, where your tutor introduces the programme structure, the tools and the resources. What happens when the programme ends: Sessions continue month to month on the same terms, or quarter to quarter at the quarterly rate, until you give one month's notice. Your first 12 weeks include a halfway review.
3. Fees and payment
One price covers your whole family, up to 3 children. Covers fees and most materials. ₦200,000 a month per family, paid in advance. Or ₦500,000 for three months paid up front. Fees are paid in advance and are not refunded once your month or quarter has started.
You can pay by payment link or by bank transfer, and a receipt is generated automatically. CLC never takes card details on its website.
4. Rescheduling and missed sessions
Move a session at least 24 hours ahead. Later than that, it counts as delivered.
A session you have not rescheduled before your tutor arrives counts as delivered.
5. If CLC cancels
If our tutor cancels, you get a make-up session or a credit.
6. Refunds and leaving
Full refund if you stop before your first session. After that, fees are not refunded once your paid month or quarter has started.
To stop, give us one month's notice on WhatsApp or by email. You pay for that month. After it, nothing more is due.
[Legal adviser to confirm]
7. Safeguarding
CLC recruits, trains, background-checks and continuously reviews every tutor. CLC does not offer childcare, babysitting, or unsupervised care of any child. If a match is not right, we change it.
8. Gratitude and reflection in sessions
Gratitude and reflection are a standard part of every session, alongside song, story and play. [OWNER TO WRITE]
9. Parent responsibilities
- Give your tutor a safe, suitable space to work in.
- A responsible adult must be at home for the whole session.
- Give us accurate details for each child, and tell us when they change.
10. Tutors
Every tutor is contracted by CLC. You contract with CLC, not with the tutor.
Please do not make private arrangements with a tutor for lessons outside this agreement. If something is not working, tell us and we will change it.
11. Privacy and your child’s information
We collect your name, your WhatsApp number, your email if you give us one, your neighbourhood, your home address, each child’s first name and age, the track and plan you choose, and confirmation that you have paid.
We ask for a child’s first name only. We never ask for a surname, a school, a photo, contact details or a date of birth. The first name is there so your tutor can greet your child and so we can make their Yorùbá Journey Passport.
CLC sees this information, and so does the tutor assigned to your family, for the lessons only. The full detail is in our privacy notice. Named data controller and complaints route: [Legal adviser to confirm]
12. Changes and disputes
If we change this agreement we will tell you and publish the new version here, with its version number and date at the top.
Liability, governing law and how disputes are settled: [Legal adviser to confirm]
